Welcome back from vacation!
Integrated Math 1 -
QUIZ Tomorrow (Tuesday 2/26/2008) Except for period 9 which will have the quiz on Wednesday.
Today we went over the “in your own words” question sheet. Remember that these questions are getting at the concepts we have learned over the past month. Don’t just answer the questions, think about the concepts the questions are about.
We also went over the “skeeter evaluation practice for the quiz sheet”; the quiz will be just like this practice sheet.
Remember to bring worksheet “B” and “C” tomorrow.
Friday 1/11/2008
Period 1 – we did not meet because of the delay in opening, so you should check your answers to the first 60 questions by looking in the worksheet section of this website. Make sure to have up to #124 of the review pack done for Monday.
Period 2 – we did not meet today so check your answers in the worksheet section of this website. Make sure to have up to #90 in the review pack done for Monday.
Period 3,8,9 – We went over the answers up to #60 in the review pack. We had a short quiz on some of those problems. Do up to #124 in the review pack for Monday.
=======================================
Monday 1/7/2008
Period 2. We continued to work on Worksheet “W”. We worked on using the graphing calculators to find maxima, minima, and zeros of polynomial functions. We also took notes on properties of polynomial functions including:
1. If the first term (term with the greatest exponent) is positive then as x approaches positive infinity then y will approach positive infinity.
2. If the first term is negative then as x approaches positive infinity then y will approach negative infinity.
3. If the order is even then the two end behaviors will be the same.
4. If the order is negative then the two end behaviors will be opposite.
5. The greatest possible number of maxima and minima will be one less then the order of the polynomial function.

Friday 1/4/2008
Periods 1,8,9 We worked on the opening activity of the "Skeeters are over running the World" section of SIMMS. We did the experiment where we added a new "skeeter" for every one which appeared face up after being shaken.
Hour homework is to finish the first side of the data sheet for this activity.
Period 3. This class did not succeed in finishing this activity and was assigned WS O on percents of change. You should finish this for homework.

11/13/2007 Integrated Mathematics 1 –
Today was the last day to hand in past due work with no penalty. If you still have past due work it will start losing a point each day it is late, so get it in ASAP.
Today in class:
1. I handed back the Quiz on single step single variable inequalities that you took on Thursday.
2. I handed out a Progress report to period one and period two students that you do not have to get signed but I am sure your parents would like to see anyway.
3. We learned about Compound inequalities. We focused on inequalities with an “and” statement. You homework is a worksheet on compound inequalities. If you need help then read section 3 of Chapter 6 of your textbook (starts on page 305).

11/13/2007 Honors Algebra 2
Today we learned about exponential growth and exponential decay.
We focused on Compound interest, which is a specific type of exponential growth.
The Homework was from the handout. Do all of the compound interest problems, but if problem 13 is taking too long then skip it.
